Today you have a wide array of vacuum cleaner bag types. You can choose from genuine brand of your vacuum cleaner or the many brands of generic vacuum bags. Most of the older vacuum came only with one choice singe ply paper bags. Today no vacuum manufacture that use this bag type in their vacuum cleaner any more. Even the lesser expensive manufacture brands today uses micro lined bags made from taking a paper filter media and lining it with a micron filter media giving a great improvement over the old paper bags to the newest technology Hepa bags made from taking multiple layers of woven synthetic cloth filter material sandwich together.
And the winner is bags! And here's why in our opinion one thing common in most if not all bagless vacuum cleaners they all use a Hepa filter somewhere in their filtering system, you think Ok Hepa filtration great! But here is the rub two important things to remember there are vacuums with Hepa that are sealed Hepa systems and non seal Hepa system sealed system means all air is directed force through the filter the non sealed system let a lot more air to be able to bypass the filter before getting filter, also again most if not all bagless vacuum that I have ever worked on uses low volume Hepa filters. Hepa filters are not all the same there are different grades of Hepa filters. Most high end vacuum manufactures will use s-class Hepa filters which are rated at a much higher air flow rate... Normally these low volume Hepa filters are rated to around 15-20 cubic feet of air per minute. Even these cheap China made department store vacuum will move 40-50 cubic feet of air, which is too much for these low volume filter to handle.
